A Business Can Be Very Intense, One Or Two Things To Think About

Welcome back to Phones Directory News! We normally post to this blog daily, so there should be new posts for you to read!

I created my company up a few years ago and as with anything new it takes a lot of time learning about the many areas of running a company. If you don’t come from a business background this can be very daunting. A simple way of looking at things is like this

First your business needs to have a product or service to sell
Second your product needs to be seen by your potential customers
Third you need to have priced the product at the correct rate and get payed for it.

The First area is a very important one, what do you have to sell? And is it something that people will need? If you are not sure about your answer to the second question, what I mean by this is, is the product you are selling something that week to week people will go out and purchase. Is the product, that you want to sell something that is a necessity or something that if money is a bit tight will be the first thing that isn’t bought.

The second area to think about is whether your product will be seen by the individuals that will buy it. If people cant see your product you wont sell anything. Think about how you are going to be seen and how you are going to deal with inquiries. Most companies see the worth of a website but if your site isn’t found then your product wont be found either. Look into Search Engine Optimisation to help your website as this will help to clarify your website to the search engines and in turn help it with its placement in the search engines ( Google, Yahoo and Bing ).

If you want to speak to individuals via the phone use a Phone Number that will stay the same whether you move location or not. I found out that a study made by the Institute of direct marketing said that if you used 0800 numbers you could grow your inquiries by as much as 185%.

Thirdly always ensure that you have looked at all of the expenses involved in getting your product or service out to somebody. Your time is a valuable comodity, don’t give it away for free, ensure that you price in travel expenses, travel time, phone calls to clients, overheads, electricity, materials, and any quantity of items and time spent in the process of fulfilling your clients requirements.

Its to easy to think that just because you are starting up you should be selling your products at a reduced rate so that you are able to get your bit of the market. All this really does is increase the quantity of products or the services you have to sell to break even. When you start up a company think about what the hook for your company is going to be, what makes your services more desirable than when compared with your competition.

Finally make sure you network with individuals that are going to be beneficial to the success of your company. There are nearly always chamber of commerce meetings or business networking meetings in your area and its worth speaking to people at these to see if you can glean useful information and potential customer leads.
